Water Baptism Celebration
January 26, 2020, 11:00 am
We are so happy that you have decided to follow the example of Jesus by being water baptized. Publicly identifying with Jesus and proclaiming your faith in Him is a powerful testimony and often a deeply moving experience.
-When we are baptized we are choosing to identify
-It is a symbol of your new life as a Christian.
-When we are baptized, we are proclaiming our new life in Christ.
-You want to follow the example of Jesus.
-Jesus commanded it.
“Jesus said, ‘Go then, to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you’” Matthew 28:19-20.
-It shows you are a believer.
Is baptism necessary for salvation?
-No, it is not. Baptism is a public confession of the work of salvation that has already taken place in the life of a believer in Christ. We are not saved because we get baptized; we get baptized because we have been saved and want to declare our salvation publicly.
If you would like to get water baptized, please sign up at The River Community Church Connection Center, or call the church office at 805-648-7955 or register on line.
You must attend the Water Baptism Class at 10:30 AM in the Rosenberger Conference Room.
