Be the Light
October 31, 2018, 5:00 pm
Please join us as we take a different approach to Halloween this year and focus on being a light in a dark world.
What about the people in our neighborhoods?
On the darkest night of the year, it seems that we have gathered the “light” together in one place (the church) in order to “escape the darkness” – and there is absolutely no light represented in our neighborhoods. The very people we most want to reach, our neighbors, have been out on Halloween going door-to-door. On a night when our neighbors are voluntarily coming to our houses, giving us an opportunity to speak to them and show God’s love – may our homes be a place of light, love and hospitality.
May we partner with you?
TRC would like to offer you a simple invitation card to hand out with your treats. The card is only meant to be a point of re-connection.
-Game in your front yard - Cornhole, beanbag toss, basketball, etc.
-Coffee, cider and/or hot chocolate - have chairs to sit and enjoy
-Food or snacks, such as popcorn, hot dogs, baked goods, etc.
-Consider opening your home to other TRC members who do not get many visitors on Halloween night.
-Potluck and plan a front yard party to create a warm welcome to visitors.
Enjoy as you cultivate an atmosphere of hospitality and conversation!
