Pastors Jim and Pam Duran have served in ministry together for decades, with a shared heart for helping people encounter Jesus and serving their community. Jim is the Lead Pastor of The River Community Church in Ventura, which they began in 2004. He also serves as Executive Director of The City Center Transitional Living and Tender Life Maternity Home, providing hope and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. A Ventura native, Jim is passionate about his city and building partnerships that make a lasting difference.

Pam serves as NextGen Coordinator, with a heart for discipling leaders, walking alongside those who are hurting, and showing the love of Christ through hospitality and ministry. Together, Jim and Pam also serve on the board of Marriage Well, supporting couples in building strong marriages.

Married for over 31 years, Jim and Pam have six children and four grandchildren. Their desire is to share the love of Jesus and serve others both within The River and throughout their community.

Pastors Doug and Terry Long have been serving in Foursquare ministry for over 40 years, with a heart for serving the church and helping others grow in their relationship with Jesus. Over the years, Doug has served in many roles, including bookkeeping, facilities oversight, and teaching classes on discipleship and the prophetic. He currently oversees the sound department. Terry served as Children’s Ministry Coordinator for nearly 20 years and now works in the church office, supporting ministry and helping prepare for church events.

For nearly 30 years, Doug and Terry have been passionate about discipleship, healing, and helping people experience freedom through the work of the Holy Spirit through Cleansing Stream Ministries. High school sweethearts, they have been married for 41 years and have two adult children and four grandchildren. Their desire to serve God and His people continues to shape their ministry at The River.

Pastors Jose and Vivian Tejada have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord and sharing the love of Jesus with others. After more than a decade of pastoral ministry in New York, they followed God’s calling to Ventura County in 2016. In December 2022, they founded First Love Inc., a ministry committed to sharing the Gospel and helping people grow in their relationship with Christ through prayer, discipleship, and community.

At The River Community Church, Jose and Vivian lead the Spanish-speaking congregation, creating a place where people can grow in faith and experience the love of God. Vivian also serves on The River’s worship team, helping equip others to grow in their gifts and lead others in worship.

Family is a special part of their lives. They have two adult children, Jazmin and Alex, along with their son- and daughter-in-law, Mark and Abby, and three grandchildren. Jose and Vivian are passionate about building a legacy of faith and helping others experience the transforming love of Jesus.

Pastor Danny Sinohui has been a devoted member of The River Community Church since 2009, with a passion for helping others grow in their relationship with God. Raised in Oxnard, California, Danny experienced a life-changing transformation when he came to faith in the mid-1990s. After graduating from a Christian Recovery Home, he served as a Home Director for four years, helping others find faith and restoration.

Danny has served in several ministries at The River, including Ushers Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Bible studies, and community outreach. Licensed in 2022, he is now an ordained minister through the Foursquare Church and continues to serve and encourage others in their walk with Christ.

Danny and his wife, Yvette, enjoy life together and co-parent their adult children.

Pastor Troy has served in ministry for over 35 years, with experience in worship, youth ministry, outreach, missions, church planting, and pastoral leadership. In 1999, he founded Expression Ministries, a worship and teaching ministry that has helped develop worship leaders and teams around the world.

Troy is also pioneering YWAM Ventura, a missions and training base focused on discipleship, equipping believers, and preparing teams for global missions. At The River Community Church, Troy serves as Worship and Missional Pastor alongside his wife, Resee. They have two grown daughters, Tiffany and Kara. Troy’s passion is to help people grow in their faith, discover their God-given gifts, and live out the call to make disciples of all nations.

Pastor Mike and his wife, Kerrie, grew up in Christ-centered homes in Ventura, where church was an important part of their lives from an early age. They met on their first day of high school and began dating during their sophomore year of college. They married in 1993 and have been serving in ministry together ever since.

Over the years, Mike and Kerrie have served in a variety of ministries, including men’s and women’s ministries, home groups, and youth ministry. Mike currently serves in Men’s Ministry and on The River’s Sunday Production Team. Together, Mike and Kerrie serve on The River’s SMR Security and Medical Response Team. They share a heart for serving others and demonstrating the love of Christ through their commitment to ministry and their church community.
